| Honoring Relationships First
|
What if your first concern
in every interaction was how your relationship is affected?
What if you cared about the presence of harmony and trust
in your relationships before you engaged in the topic of conversation
or the issue at hand? For the most part, we as human beings,
find it easier to deal with things rather than with people.
Yet, people are at the heart of all of our pleasures and all
of our problems. There is almost nothing that we do in our
lives that does not have to do with another person.
At the same time we act as
if the way we relate to others is unimportant. We operate
as if we can just ignore, berate, abuse, avoid, reject, withhold
communicating and our lives will still continue to work.
Instead, we propose authentically
honoring your relationships and making a commitment to operate
“in partnership” with the people in your life.
This requires a fundamental shift from ignoring, avoiding
or using people, etc. to genuinely caring for the relationships
you have established as the primary step in engaging with
another.
Our work is designed
for people to experience the benefits as they learn how to
“partner” with another person. We have found that
as people take the time to make sure they are in sync and
in harmony with their relationships their issues, agendas,
tasks and goals are easier to accomplish.
